AprilAire Whole-House Evaporative Humidifier Maintenance
Replace the water panel annually (Models 300, 500, 600, 700, and 720) or twice per heating season (Model 400). Over time, the water panel gets clogged from residual impurities in your water and needs to be replaced.
- The Change Water Panel indicator light (Automatic Digital Humidifier Control only) will blink when it is time to change the water panel. See individual model instructions for additional details.

If your humidifier is equipped with an Automatic Digital Humidifier Control with a Change Water Panel indicator, follow the steps below after replacing the water panel.
- Make a heat call at your thermostat to turn on the HVAC system fan
- Turn the control knob past 7 to the Test/Reset position. It will click into place, and the Humidifier On light will start to blink.
- Turn the control knob back to its original RH setpoint
Annual inspection of the distribution tray above the water panel to clean of excess mineral deposits is also recommended.
AprilAire Whole-House Steam Humidifier Maintenance
Replace the steam canister and O-ring annually. Shop replacement canisters and maintenance kits or find a pro.
Every three years, the electrode wires need to be replaced by a licensed contractor. Find a pro near you.
